1. Always-Closed → Always-Open
Keep the valve spring higher than the valve, which is at the always-closed position. Press the spring down and twist a little degree, till the spring will not spring up automatically, then you’ll get the always-open position.
*This position helps you deflate the kayak easier.
2. Always-Closed → Temporarily-Open / Air Inflation
Keep the valve spring higher than the valve, which is at the always-closed position, and press the tube of pump into the valve, twist a little degree to lock the tube, not the spring, so that you’ll come to the position for air inflation.
The valve spring inside is at the same level with the valve, and cause you didn’t twist it to the always-open position, after you pull out the tube, it should spring up and return to always-closed position. And you finish inflating with the valve closed automatically.
*At this position, you have finished inflating, and no air will leak.
